Duties

Lawyer-linguists translate complex legal texts into L1 from at least two other official EU languages. Texts include judgments, orders, Advocates General's opinions and written pleadings. They revise legal translations and provide legal analysis with Registries and other Court departments.

Actual selection design

There is no EU-law or specialist-knowledge MCQ in this notice. The scored professional tests are a 90-minute legal translation from L2 to L1 and a 90-minute review of a machine-translated L1 text against L3. Reasoning is a combined gateway.

Published profile pages show reasoning and translation were held on 8 July 2025 and translation review on 17 September 2025 for the Italian profile. Individual figures and messages differ by profile; use the relevant EPSO page.
