Current status

EPSO/AD/423/25 comprised eight separate AD7 competitions. Applications closed on 10 April 2025. The reasoning and language-3 comprehension tests took place on 12 June 2025; the EU-law and revision tests followed on 17 June 2025. EPSO published every reserve list in July 2026. This package therefore serves recruitment-stage candidates and future lawyer-linguist preparation; it does not imply that applications remain open.

Reserve targets

Institutions and duties

The European Parliament and Council recruit lawyer-linguists. The Commission recruits legal revisers. Core work is to revise translations of EU legal texts into L1 from at least two other official languages, advise on legislative drafting and preserve legal-linguistic consistency.

Parliament and Council staff follow legislative procedures, draft or check amendments and reconcile versions. Commission legal revisers advise author services and examine proposals and adopted acts across language versions. Accuracy is legal work: every authentic language version can affect interpretation.

Selection battery

Reasoning used a separately selected language 4: verbal 10 questions in 18 minutes, numerical 10 in 20 minutes and abstract 10 in 10 minutes. Combined pass mark: 15/30.

The EU-law MCQ used L1: 30 questions in 60 minutes, pass mark 15/30. It was both eliminatory and ranking-critical.

All profiles sat a language-3 comprehension test: 12 questions in 25 minutes. The English profile also sat language-2 comprehension: 12 questions in 25 minutes. These tests had no separate pass mark.

The revision test lasted 90 minutes and was marked 0-100, with 50/100 required.
