Problem Solving (Tier 1)
Basic digital problem solving: troubleshooting common issues and adapting to new tools.
Overview
Problem solving Tier 1 tests your ability to handle everyday digital problems: connectivity issues, software errors, basic configuration, and adapting to unfamiliar interfaces. The focus is on systematic troubleshooting rather than technical knowledge.
What is tested
- Systematic troubleshooting approaches
- Identifying common hardware and software issues
- Adapting to new or unfamiliar digital tools
- Knowing when and where to seek help
Preparation tips
- The classic troubleshooting flow: identify, reproduce, isolate, fix, verify
- Restart is genuinely the first step for most issues — it clears temporary state
- Check obvious things first: Is it plugged in? Is Wi-Fi on? Is the service down?
- Error messages contain useful information — read them before searching for help
