What changed on 10 July 2026

EPSO confirmed an additional testing session for the four EPSO/AD/425/25 Buildings fields on 3 September 2026. Its scope is narrow. It applies only to a limited number of candidates who could not sit the 16 April retesting session. The candidates concerned have already received invitations.

This is not a general retest. Applications have not reopened. Candidates without an invitation should not treat 3 September as a new booking or testing date. EPSO says the competition procedure will continue after the session and that further information will follow after subsequent stages are completed.

Read the official EPSO update.

Four separate fields

  • Field 1: Project management in the building sector — 153 reserve-list places.
  • Field 2: Architecture and project management — 75 places.
  • Field 3: Electrical engineering and project management — 93 places.
  • Field 4: HVAC engineering and project management — 90 places.

The combined reserve target is 411. Candidates selected one field. Field-related ranking is performed within that field.

Exact test profile

Abstract reasoning1010 minutesCombined with numerical: 10/20

Passing the field threshold does not guarantee progression. EPSO uses the field score as a ranking gate before processing the Written Test and eligibility for the highest-scoring candidates.

Written Test, not FRWT

The competition-specific assessment is a communication-only Written Test. It does not assess field knowledge or knowledge of the source topic. EPSO allows logical assumptions when information is incomplete.

The source is COM(2021) 802 final on the energy performance of buildings. Only the Explanatory Memorandum, the first 18 pages of the English source, is in scope. Candidates should ignore the later proposed Directive text and Annex I.

New EPSOHQ package

EPSOHQ now provides a dedicated EPSO/AD/425/25 Buildings database with:

  • Current status and retesting timeline.
  • Ten source-backed modules.
  • Four separate 80-question field banks.
  • Exact independent reasoning and field clocks.
  • Correct combined numerical and abstract pass logic.
  • A 40-minute Written Test simulator displaying the official source.

Question-bank training starts in English. The official competition still permits all 24 official EU languages under its Language 1 and Language 2 rules.

Source boundary

The Notice of Competition, its amending notice, candidate-account messages and provider instructions remain authoritative.
